7.2 Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit this website, contact us, or use external services linked from this website. Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.

There is no legal or contractual obligation to use this website or to contact us by email. Without information required to process an inquiry, however, an inquiry may not be able to be handled.

7.3 Website Hosting

This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When you access the website, the web server processes technically necessary access data. This may include your IP address, date and time of access, the page or file requested, the amount of data transferred, information about successful retrieval, the referrer URL, and information about your browser, operating system and device.

This processing is carried out to provide the website technically, maintain its stability and security, and protect against attacks or misuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is the secure and functional provision of the website. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for these purposes. Server log data is retained for the period specified by STRATO or the applicable hosting configuration.

Where required, STRATO processes data on behalf of the controller under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Further information is available from STRATO.

7.5 External Links: LinkedIn, Microsoft Bookings and Blinq

This website contains ordinary links to the LinkedIn profile, appointment scheduling via Microsoft Bookings, and a digital business card provided through Blinq. These services are not embedded in this website as a plugin, pixel, iframe or widget. Merely visiting this website therefore does not transmit data to these services. Only when you click a corresponding link do you leave this website, after which the privacy policies of the respective provider apply.

Microsoft Bookings, including “Bookings with me”, is used for appointment scheduling. The booking page is operated by Microsoft. A Microsoft account is not required to make a booking.

When you book an appointment, personal data may include your name, email address, telephone number where provided, appointment and booking details, and any other information you enter during the booking process. This data is processed to arrange, organize and conduct the requested meeting.

Bookings is part of Microsoft 365. Customer data collected through the booking process is stored within the Microsoft 365 platform and Exchange. Microsoft describes the storage and processing of this data in its Bookings documentation and Microsoft 365 privacy information.

Where Microsoft processes booking data on my behalf, this is based on the data processing terms applicable to Microsoft 365 pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. For transfers of personal data outside the European Economic Area, Microsoft states that it uses appropriate safeguards under Art. 46 GDPR, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

The processing serves to handle your appointment booking. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where scheduling the appointment serves the performance of pre-contractual measures at your request. For non-binding introductory conversations, processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the efficient organization and conduct of requested meetings.

Further information is available in Microsoft’s Privacy Statement and Microsoft’s information on Bookings with me.

When using LinkedIn or Blinq, the privacy policies of the respective providers apply. Information is available from LinkedIn and Blinq.

7.6 Cookies, Analytics and Tracking

In the current technical version of this website, no non-essential first-party cookies are set and no analytics, advertising or retargeting services such as Google Analytics, Matomo, Meta Pixel or LinkedIn Insight Tag are used. External websites opened through links may use their own cookies or similar technologies. We have no control over this. If consent-based cookies, embedded external content, or analytics or marketing services are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before their use and consent will be obtained where required.

7.7 Recipients and Transfers to Third Countries

Recipients of personal data are, where necessary, the controller and service providers used to operate the website and provide requested services. This includes the hosting provider STRATO. When appointments are scheduled through Microsoft Bookings, the data required for the booking is transmitted to Microsoft and processed and stored within the Microsoft 365 platform.

When you use external services after clicking a link, their operators process data under their own responsibility in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

The cloud services used may process or provide access to personal data outside the European Union or European Economic Area. For transfers that require safeguards, Microsoft states that it uses appropriate safeguards under Art. 46 GDPR, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
